Tampa General Hospital paid $4.8 million for three pieces of property at 606 W. Kennedy Blvd., where it intends to move office staff to open up space at the Davis Islands facility.

Florida Health Sciences Center Inc. bought the properties Nov. 9 from Snow Park Inc., Grand Central Properties Inc. and the William W. Stoeltzing revocable trust, Hillsborough official records show.

The hospital plans to move some of its non-medical support office staff to the recently acquired building in about a year, said TGH spokesman John Dunn. Vacated hospital space will be remodeled to house patients. The hospital is licensed for 988 beds.

TGH, the largest hospital in the region and a heart transplant center, has leased office space in the past but found it didn’t work well, Dunn said.

“It made more sense for us to buy the building than rent office space in downtown,” Dunn said. “This seemed like a more efficient way to do it.”

Cecille Parido is president of both Snow Park and Grand Central, records show.
